I have worked for long time with my fellow writer and editor Derek van Egmond on the scenario for ‘Corso’ my new animation film, unfortunately this project is now on a temporary pause before the film can be realized. Because of the scale of this project and not yet enough investors to back us up financially during production time. So pretty sad news… Anyway, all in good time! Here you can watch the first animation test, which already was partially worked out, just to feel a bit of the atmosphere. A lot of work still needs to be done, I can’t wait to start again!
And the good news, during this pause I’m full time available again for all your animation and illustration jobs!
I made this short animation film ‘Polderen’ for the art institute bkkc (brabants kenniscentrum kunst & cultuur). The film shows my response to a dilemma which currently takes place between nature lovers and serious businessmen in the region of Steenbergen (North Brabant, The Netherlands). This beautiful piece of Dutch landscape lies exactly at the same spot of a new municipal infrastructure plan. You can watch the film here: vimeo.com/studiomittens/polderen
I’m currently engaged as director and animator for ‘Corso’ my new short animation film, but feel free to contact me for illustration work!
I’ll try to keep a blog posted with updates about this animation project: flickr.com/studiomittens
This short animation was part of my graduation exhibition at the Academy of Arts (CABK Zwolle, 2009). Afterwards it was selected for many other exhibitions and (film)festivals in the Netherlands. It even got nominated three times (see below).
If that’s not enough, this summer (2010) it’s going on tour with CosyMo’s Solar Cinema at a few festivals across Europe (Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria).
